"Torah is the tree of life to those who grasp it, and its supporters are praiseworthy." The ideology upon which our institution is founded, is one which through integration and balance strives for wholeness. Maximum commitment to Torah is desired, but without the self-righteousness that devalues any other person or endeavor that has no connection to Torah. We try develop a dialectical approach which has on the one hand, delicate sensitivity, caring and love for Klal Yisrael and on the other, strength, insight, tenacity and initiative - the willingness and ability to struggle for Torah values. This profound message is the directive of my esteemed Rav and teacher, Rabbi Aharon Lichtenstein. It is the cornerstone upon which the JLC stands. Rabbi David Blackman
