Learning Programmes

The programme today includes:

  • 40 Shiurim weekly on offer by Rabbi David Blackman, Rabbi Danny Eisenberg and Rabbi Myron Sacher to audiences of diverse backgrounds and ages. These lectures span the spectrum of serious Torah learning: Tanach (Bible), Talmud, Halacha (Jewish law), Ethics, Jewish history, Philosophy and a touch of Kabbala (Jewish mysticism).
  • ‘Lunch and Learn’ programmes, operating weekly in Double Bay and in the City
  • Chatan and Kallah (Groom and Bride) classes
  • Support and services to the Bnei Akiva Zionist Youth Movement
  • Lectures to non-Jewish students and teachers in comparative religion programmes on the fundamentals of Jewish belief.
  • Crisis, marriage and general personal counselling
  • One-on-one learning, as well as women’s learning, in small groups, takes place daily. To fashion your own session, please contact us and we will try our best to accommodate your needs
  • A Torah Mitzion Kollel (a religious Zionist mini-Yeshiva) – Four fine Israeli bachurim are housed in the JLC campus, forming the nucleus of the Kollel and operating under Rabbi Eisenberg. The boys dedicate their days to running a Beit Midrash at Moriah College during school hours. In the late afternoons, they implement educational programmes at Bnei Akiva, and at night facilitate a Beit Midrash at the JLC.
  • International guest speakers - including Rabbi Akiva Tatz, Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, Rabbi Asher Wade, Rabbi David Gottlieb, Rabbi Shmuel Moffson, Rabbi Mordechai Becher, Ahuva Gray, Rebbetzin Ester Yungreis, Rabbi Perry Segal, Rabbi Natan Gamedze, Rabbi Shimon Green, Rabbi Lawrence Perez, Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, Rabbi Hanoch Teller, Rabbi Joshua Berman and Rabbi Doron Kornbluth.
