A Yizkor Initiative

Remembrance is at the very core of our Jewish practice. We are always called upon to remember significant milestones from our past. Four times each year, we have the opportunity of being able to honour the memory and lives of our dear ones who have passed away and to pray for their souls, in a communal ceremony, called Yizkor. In this prayer, we memorialise those who are no longer alive and we ask that G-d himself remember for good the lives of those who have departed. We ask G-d to look to the good that we do in memory of those who have passed away and we therefore each donate charity in their merit.

We are creating a personal Yizkor Book with an easy-to-read format allowing the reader instant clear access to the text in Hebrew, in English, and a transliteration thereof, together with easy-to-follow directions. For the first time, readers will be able to find a deep and meaningful commentary on the text and words of comfort by Rabbi David Blackman, and tasteful artworks conceived specifically and exclusively for this project by acclaimed artist, Vicki Moliver.

Please consider sponsoring a Platinum, Major or General page of this Yizkor Book which will no doubt become a treasured family heirloom, in memory of someone whom you love who has passed away, and may your contribution be for their merit.
